These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the OTIC CORS mobile app, web portal, and related services (together, the "Service"), provided by OTIC Geosystems ("OTIC," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information, including your full name, email address, and phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and RTK device credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
One account is intended per individual or organization. We reserve the right to limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe were created to circumvent account-based limits, such as activation bonuses intended for a single account.
2. The Service
OTIC operates a network of continuously operating GNSS reference stations ("CORS stations"). Through the Service, you may:
- Access real-time RTK correction data via NTRIP, streamed to a physical GNSS receiver that you own or control ("RTK access"); or
- Download post-processed static observation (RINEX) data files for a selected station and date ("Static access").
RTK access requires compatible physical survey equipment. The Service (this app and portal) does not itself sell, lease, or provide GNSS receivers or other hardware as part of RTK or Static access, equipment must be sourced separately. OTIC Geosystems does sell and lease GNSS receivers and related survey equipment through our shop at oticgs.com/shop, but purchases or leases made there are a separate transaction, governed by the terms presented at the time of that purchase, and are not part of this Service. Certain receiver brands or verified device serial numbers may qualify for promotional data allowances at our discretion; eligibility criteria may change at any time.
3. Fees and Payment
The Service offers several ways to pay for access, tied to real-world usage of our GNSS correction network and data infrastructure:
- Time-based plans: RTK access for a defined period of time, such as a day, with access expiring when the plan period ends.
- Usage-based plans: a fixed amount of RTK data, measured in MB or GB, that remains available until the allocated allowance is used.
- Static download credits: a set number of individual file downloads.
- Static access plans: a fixed period (such as 90 days or one year) of unlimited static downloads. These plans are valid for the stated period only and do not automatically renew — continued access after the period ends requires a new purchase.
Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processor, Paystack. We do not store your card or bank details.
Purchased data allowances and download credits are consumed based on your actual usage of the Service and, where stated, do not expire until used. Access plans (such as the Same Day Plan or a static access plan) are valid only for their stated period. Prices are displayed in the app prior to purchase and are subject to change; a change in price does not affect an allowance or plan you have already purchased.
Because access is provisioned and, in the case of RTK, becomes immediately usable by your equipment upon purchase, purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our discretion in cases of a verified service failure on our part (for example, a station outage that prevented you from using a plan you had purchased for that period). Contact us using the details in Section 10 to request assistance with a payment issue.
4. Equipment Serial Numbers
Some receiver brands allow entry of a device serial number to verify eligibility for a promotional data allowance. Each serial number may only be used to activate one account. Submitting a serial number you do not own, or sharing your serial number with another person, may result in the serial being invalidated, the associated bonus being revoked, and/or account suspension.
Registrations for certain receiver brands may be subject to manual review before RTK access is activated. We aim to complete this review promptly but do not guarantee a specific timeframe.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including CORS station connections used by other users.
- Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, account limits, device restrictions, or promotional eligibility checks.
- Resell or redistribute RTK correction data or static data files to third parties without our written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any account found to violate these Terms.
6. Service Availability
We work to keep CORS stations and the Service generally available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Individual stations may occasionally be offline for maintenance or due to factors outside our control. The Service will indicate station status and suggest an alternative nearby station where possible.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, branding, and design, is owned by OTIC Geosystems and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Static data files you download are provided for your own survey and mapping purposes.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Positioning accuracy depends on many factors outside our control, including your equipment, distance from a CORS station, atmospheric conditions, and correct configuration of your receiver. We do not warrant that RTK correction data or static data will be free of error or suitable for any particular purpose, and you are responsible for independently verifying results critical to your work.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OTIC Geosystems shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
